The Nusura Foundation
The Nusura Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that advances public education to better understand and respond to systemic inequities affecting Black communities in Canada.
We bring together research, policy, and community knowledge to identify patterns and gaps across systems, including justice, health, and social supports, and translate this into accessible insights that strengthen understanding, leadership, and more effective responses.
Our work is grounded in public benefit, accountability, and a commitment to addressing anti-Black racism through education and knowledge-sharing.
How We Advance Public Education
Education and Learning Programs
Structured learning focused on prevention, justice-system literacy, and community well-being.
Research and Public Education
Translating research into accessible learning resources for public use.
Community-Based Learning
Educational initiatives developed with partners in response to documented needs.

Why This Work Matters
Public understanding of systemic inequities affecting Black communities is often fragmented, with knowledge dispersed across research, policy, and practice. System responses are frequently developed in isolation, limiting opportunities for shared learning and more effective, prevention-oriented approaches.
We prioritize education that connects these areas, strengthens understanding, and identifies key patterns and gaps across systems to support more informed and coordinated responses.
Governed by a Board of Directors
The Nusura Foundation is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors ensuring accountability in all our endeavors.
